Motivation letter
Study/research plan: at least 800 words for master's and PhD; explain topic, method and expected results.
A pre-admission letter from a Chinese professor greatly improves Type B chances; email professors with your plan summary.
State how studying in China will affect your field at home.
Common mistakes
- Wrong Agency Number for the university or embassy.
- Missing the university deadline that precedes the general CSC one.
- An old medical check or a non-Chinese form.
- A very short study plan.
Tips from winners
- Email 5–10 professors in your field two months before applying; one pre-admission is enough.
- Prepare certified translations into English or Chinese.
- Keep your CSC registration number; you need it in every message.
