The grants are provided through the Climate-Smart Matching Grants facility, a component of the Green Agri-food Transformation for Economic Recovery (GATE) project. The Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) provides them on behalf of the Lebanese Republic, with technical leadership from the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Directorate of Cooperatives, and implementation support from UNDP. Several calls will be launched over two years, and this call is the first round.
Grant categories:
- Cooperatives: USD 10,000 - 35,000
- Farmers' associations: USD 10,000 - 35,000
- Individual farmers: USD 500 - 5,000 (the first call targets at least 250 farmers)

- Pre-selection: applications are screened against minimum eligibility criteria, then undergo an environmental and social screening. Pre-selected candidates are invited to develop Climate-Smart Business Plans, scheduled for the end of November.
- Final selection: after the business plans are submitted, beneficiaries are chosen based on the scoring criteria and business plan assessment.
Pre-selection does not guarantee final selection or the award of a grant.

Results are communicated by email. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Dates: applications opened on 13 October 2026, and the deadline is 3 November 2026. The implementation period is up to 8 months.
