The 15th Global Investigative Journalism Conference (GIJC) will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from October 19 to 23, 2027. It is organized by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) and co-hosted by VVOJ, the Dutch-Flemish Association of Investigative Journalists. The venue is de Doelen ICC Rotterdam.
The conference will feature more than 150 expert panels and workshops, plus networking with colleagues from over 100 countries. Announced topics include:
- Online search techniques
- Investigating and using AI
- Cross-border collaboration
- Tips and tools for exiled media
- Satellite imagery, climate change, corruption and data journalism
Fellowship requirements after the conference: fellows must either produce a story directly related to GIJC27 or give a presentation to colleagues or the wider journalism community based on what they learned.
Working knowledge of English is required, as sessions and workshops are in English, and applications must be submitted in English. Competition is keen, and applicants must convince the selectors they will make good use of the training. Because of the high volume of applications, applicants will not be updated individually on their status. Questions: fellowships@gijn.org.
Deadline: January 31, 2027.
